Add some dimension and dramatic interest to your stilt-walking repertoire! We will explore partner walks and dance vocabulary, still points, inversions and level changes on (and off) stilts. Prior stilting experience is required for the acrobatic stilt work. This is NOT a beginning stilt-walking class. Stilt pegs should be 2.5 ft or shorter; as most of the acro-stilt vocabulary is not accessible with longer pegs. Stilts are available by prior arrangement, and for a small additional fee.
Instructor Marcia Miquelon has been walking and dancing on stilts since 2001. She has taught hundreds of youth through adults to walk tall. Her interest in acrobatic stilts was kindled by attending the Global Stilt Congress in 2015 and 2016, hosting Jay Ruby and Helen Goodrum of the Carpetbag Brigade in 2016, and conducting a tour in Fort Worth Texas focused on stilts and multiculturalism.
