Sound Healing: Deep Relaxation and the Singing of Sacred Mantra with Bobby Kokott.
Everything is alive with music. In Yoga, Nada Brahma recognizes that our body, our thoughts, and all the atoms of the unfolding universe are, in essence, music. In Physics, String Theory agrees with this description of reality. We are sound itself, and the world’s great spiritual traditions provide methods of sacred toning and singing for us to come into harmony with the healing forces of the universe.
This experiential playshop begins with a guided contemplation of our body at rest. As we move into deeper layers of relaxation, I will create a healing soundscape using instruments and voice. A period of gentle movement follows to awaken the energies of the body. After a short break, we will join our voices in the singing of beautiful and simple mantras. Not only is it a great pleasure to sing with others, but by doing so we avail ourselves of the scientifically proven health benefits of chanting, toning, and singing joyfully with a group. Magic happens. This practice nurtures our innate happiness by opening our hearts to the Divine, to each other, and to ourself. Together we touch the heart of beauty.
